i.e.   Acquisition of too much wealth is always accompanied by the fear of losing it .  Even the
Vajra, the weapon of God Indra strikes the lofty peaks of the Meru  mountain.

(Super rich people are always targeted  by the Government's taxation authorities,thieves dacoits,and they remain in constant fear of losing their wealth.  This phenomenon has been highlighted by the use of a simile from Hindu Mythology, of the high  peak of 'Meru' mountain (representing wealth) being struck by the 'Vajra' of God Indra (representing outside forces attempting to take away that wealth ).   Lightening always strikes only at highrise buildings, trees and mountain peaks and not on low lying objects.)

(In this subhashita the wicked persons have been compared with a half filled pitcher of water, which, even by carrying it over the head  (a show of respect) continues to make rumbling sound and the water spills through its mouth. )

(Easy availability of even a priceless thing ,results in its disregard or disrespect. This fact has been highlighted in the above Subhashita by giving the example of people of Prayaag taking a bath with water drawn from a well rather than bathing at the confluence of the sacred rivers Ganges and Yamuna . For this purpose people come to Prayag from far off  places facing all the trouble and huge expenses but for the residents of Prayag it has very little importance. )

(Through this subhashita the author has indirectly mentioned the prerequisites of a successful and
illustrious house hold i.e. giving due respect and attention towards the guests, association with noble and righteous persons and a high standards of living.)

A person obsessed by greed is like a person whose head is aflame.

( Desire for any thing or a  position  etc. is the driving force among people and has resulted in all the progress mankind has achieved.   But when this desire is uncontrollable it turns into greed and to achieve such desire people do not bother about fair or unfair means to achieve it, as if their brain is on fire and they take wrong decisions, which ultimately result in their ruin.  This Subhashita warns us not to be greedy but at the same time not to abandon normal and achievable desires.)

(In this subhashita noble persons are compared to Gold and wicked persons to ordinary grass and
anger has been compared to a burning fire.   While the anger in noble persons can be subdued by making special efforts and they retain their kindness after their anger is subdued  in the case of wicked persons   anger at times results in their total destruction.).
