Today's Subhashita.

Dahyamaanaah = in flames     Suteekshnena = severe.     Neechaah = mean and inferior  persons.
Parayashogninaa = para+yashh+agninaa.     Para = others'    Yashh =fame.   Agninaa = fire of ..
Ashaktaastatpadam = ashakta +tat+padam.     Ashakta = unable to.    Tat = that.   Padam = steps
Gantum = to go.   Padam gantum = follow the footsteps  .   Tato = afterwards.  Nindaam = abuse, defame.        .Prakurvate = have recourse to.

i.e.      Mean and inferior persons feel like burning in the raging flames on seeing other persons' name and fame.  As they are  unable to follow the footsteps of such noble and righteous persons,  they then take recourse to abusing them.

(In this subhashita, by using the simile of fame of righteous person as a burning fire and the envy of mean persons as its scorching flames, the author has highlighted the predicament of such mean persons, who are not able to reconcile with this situation and instead of praising start abusing them.)
