Apoojyaa yatra poojyante poojyaanaam to vimaananaa.
Treeni tatra pravartante durbhiksham maranam bhayam.
Apoojyaa = not to be revered or worshipped. Yatra = where. Poojyante = revered, worshipped .
Poojyaanaanam = those who deserve to be revered or worshipped, honourable persons Tu = to.
Vimaananaa = humiliation, disrespect. Treeni = three . Tatra = there. Pravartante = prevail.
Durbhiksham = famine. Maranam = death, pestilence. Bhayam = fear, danger
i.e. In a country where undeserving persons are revered and honourable persons are not respected and are humiliated , these three conditions namely famine, death, danger and pestilence, always prevail there.
( The truth behind this Subhashita can be observed in many countries in Africa , Middle East and Latin America, where these countries in spite of being rich in natural resources are plagued with strife, pestilence and famine, only because that the Government in these countries is controlled by War Lords and very mean and cruel persons.)
