Aho dhanamadaandhastu pashyanaapi na pashyati.
Yadi pashyatyaatmahite sa pashyati na samshayah.
Aho = Oh ! .Dhanamadaandhastu = dhana/+ mada +andhastu/ Dhasn = wealth, money. Mada = pride, intoxication. Andhastu= andhah + tu. Andhah = a blind person. Tu = and , but. Pashyanaapi = pashyan +api. Pashyan = seeing. Api = even. Na = not. Pashyati = sees. Yadi = if.
Pashyatyaatmahite = Pashyati +aatmahite. Aatmahite = oner's own interest or profit. Sa = he.
Na = no. Samshayah = doubt.
i.e. Oh ! a person who is very proud of his wealth is always oblivious of the problems of others in the society, and even if faced with such problems , he behaves like a blind person as if he has not seen them. But on the other hand if the happenings are of his own interest and beneficial to him, there is no doubt that he will definitely see them and act accordingly.
(This subhashita underlines the mentality of persons who get rich quickly and has been given them the title of 'a person blinded and intoxicated by his wealth' -(Dhanamadaandh), who is oblivious like a blind and drunken person about the miseries all around him in the society and does not contribute for its welfare.)
