Today's Subhashita.

अकृत्यं नैव कर्तव्यं प्राणत्यागेSपि  संस्थिते  |
न  च  कृत्यं परित्याज्यं एष धर्मः सनातनः  || - संस्कृत सुभाषितानि

भावार्थ -    न्याय व्यवस्था, धर्म तथा समाज द्वारा निषिद्ध घोषित
किये गये कार्य मृत्युसंकट उपस्थित  होने पर भी नहीं करने चाहिये ,
तथा अपने प्रतिदिन किये जाने वाले कार्यों को भी नहीं त्यागना चाहिये ,
क्योंकि भारतीय  सनातन धर्म में यही निर्देशित  किया  गया है  |

Akrutyam naiva kartavyam praanatyaagepi smsthite .
Na cha krutyam parityaajya esha dharmah sanaatanah.

Akrutya = any action or deed which is forbidden by Law
 Religion and against the interests of the society.  Naiva  =
should not .  Kartavyam = should do.      Praanatyagepi =
Praanatyaage + api.     Praanatyaage = death.    Api = even.  
Samsthite = relating to, on the face of.    Na = not.    Cha =
and.    utyam  = action,  deeds.      Parityaajyam = to be
 renounced.  Esha = this.    Dharmah = moral duty. religious
austerity.     Sanaatanah = eternal.  (Sanatana Dharma is the
name oof the Religion followed by the people of India called
Hindus)

i,e,       We should not do such acts which are forbidden by Law,
Religion and social custom even on the face of imminent death.
But we should also not renounce our normal day to day activities,
because all  this has been prescribed in the Sanatan Dharma.
