Today's Subhashita.

उपस्थिते विवाहे च दाने यज्ञे तथा विभो  |

समाचरति यो विघ्नं स मृत्वा जायते कृमिः || - महासुभषितसंग्रह

भावार्थ -     किसी विवाह संस्कार में, शासकों तथा प्रभावशाली  

व्यक्तियों द्वारा दान दिये जाने या  किसी यज्ञ के समाहारोह मे 

जो भी व्यक्ति विघ्न बाधा उपस्थित करता है  वह् अपनी मृत्यु के 

पश्चात एक कृमि (कीडे मकौडे) के रूप में जन्म लेता है |

(विवाह संस्कार, दान तथा यज्ञ के महत्त्व को दृष्टिगत रखते हुए 

इन कार्यों में विघ्न बाधा उपस्थित करने  को निकृष्ट कार्य मानते 

हुए इस का निषेध लोगों में भय की भावना उत्पन्न कर इस सुभाषित 

द्वारा किया गया है | )

Upasthite vivaahe cha daane yagye tathaa vibho.

Samaacharati yo vighnam sa mrutvaa  jaayate krimih.

Upasthite = present, arrived at.     Vivaahe = a marriage 

ceremony.      Cha = and.       Daane =  charity,  gift.

Yagye =    a religious ritual of worship and sacrifice .

Tathaa = and.         Vibho = a ruler, a powerful person.   

Samaacharati = creates, does.         Yo = whosoever.

Vighnam = obstacles, hinderance.   Sa = he,     Mrutva=

after his death.    Jaayate = takes birth   Krimih = a worm,

an insect.

i.e     Whosoever creates obstacles during the course of a

marriage ceremony or events organised by the rulers and

powerful persons for giving donations and any "Yagya" ,

after his death takes birth as a worm or an insect.

(Realising the importance of marriage ceremonies, religious

rituals of giving  donations and performance of "Yagya",

this Subhashita discourages people not to indulge in putting 

obstacles in these rituals by instilling fear in their mind. )
