अतिसंचयलुब्धानां वित्तमन्यस्य कारणं |
अन्यैः संचीयते यत्नादन्यैश्च मधु पीयते || - महासुभषितसंग्रह
भावार्थ - अत्यधिक संचय करने की प्रवृत्ति वाले (कंजूस ) व्यक्ति
धन का संचय यत्नपूर्वक कष्ट उठा कर वास्तव में अन्य व्यक्तियों
के लिये उसी प्रकार करते हैं जैसे मधु मक्खियां मधु का संचय तो
अपने लिये करती हैं परन्तु उस मधु को अन्य व्यक्ति पी जाते हैं |
Atisanchayalubdhaanaam vittamanyasya kaaranam.
Anyaih sancheeyate yatnaadanyaishcha madhu peeyate.
Atisanchayalubdhaanaam = Ati + sanchaya+ lubdhaanaam.
Ati = too much. Sanchaya = hoarding, saving. Lubdhaanaam=
greedy persons. Vittamanasya = vittam+anayasya. Vittam =
wealth. Anayasya = others' Kaaranam = reason, purpose
Anyaih =others. Sancheeyate = collects. Yatnaadanyaishcha =
Yatnaat + anyaih + cha. Yatnaat = with special efforts..
Cha = and. Madhu = honey, nectar. Peeyate = drinks.
i.e. Miserly persons obsessed with too much hoarding of
wealth actually do so for the purpose of enjoyment of their wealth
by others, just like the honey bees who painstakingly collect and
hoard the honey, which is ultimately consumed by others.
