एकेनापि विनीतेन सुतेनोद्द्रियते कुलं |
गङ्गावतरणापारप्रथं पश्य भगीरथं || -महासुभषितसंग्रह
भावार्थ - यदि किसी व्यक्ति का एक ही पुत्र हो पर वह् विनम्र
और योग्य हो तो वह् अपने कुल को सम्मान और प्रसिद्धि उसी
प्रकार दिलाता है जिस प्रकार राजा भगीरथ ने तपस्या कर पवित्र
नदी गङ्गा की धारा को स्वर्ग से पृथ्वी पर अवतरण करा कर प्रसिद्धि
पाई थी |

Ekenaapi vineetena sutenoddriyate kulam,
Gangavataranaapaarapatham pashya Bhageeratham,
Ekenaapi = eken + api. Eken - by one. Api =even.
Vineetena = humble and accomplished. Sutenoddriyate =
Sutenot + driyate. Sutenot = by a son. Driyate =
brings respect and honour. Kulam = family dynasty.
Gangavataranaapaarapatham = Ganga + avatarana +
Paara + pratham. Ganga = the sacred river Ganges
Avatarnaa = descending (from Heaven). Paara = bank
of the river. Pratham = extended. Pashya = see.
Bhageerathasm = name of a King in Hindu Mythology.

i.e. Even if a person may have only one son, but if he is
humble and accomplished, he brings fame and honour to
his family dynasty just like the King Bhagirath , who
brought name and honour to his family by bringing the
sacred river Ganges from Heaven to the Earth.
