Vaanijyena = for doing business. Gatah = has gone. Sa = he.

Gruhapatih =master of the house. Vaartaa = information, news.
Api = even. Na = not. Shrooyate = is heard. Praatastajjananee=
praatah + tat + jananee. Praatah = morning. Tat = his. Jananee=
mother. Prasoota = recently born Tanayaa = daughter. Jaamatru=
son- in-law. Geham = residence. Gataa = has gone. Baalaaham=
Baalaa+aham. Baalaaa= young girl. Aham = I. Navayauvanaa=
adolascent young girl. Nishi =night. katham=how ? Sthatavyam=
stay. Asmin = in this. Gruhe = house. Saayam =evening.
Samprati = now. Vartaoute = at present. Pathik= traveller. Hey= O !
Sthaanantaram= another place. Gamyataam = with accessibility.
i.e. O traveller ! the head of my household (my husband) has gone
abroad to do business and there is no news about him. His mother has
just today in the morning gone to her son-in-law to look after her
daughter and the new born chid. I am myself a young woman alone in
the house. So, under such circumstance how can I provide shelter to
you in the night ? The evening is fast approaching. Therefore, it would
be appropriate if you go to some other place easily accessible to you.
(This Subhashita is also an allegory, which requires a reply. The lady
of the house has politely declined to provide a shelter overnight to the
traveller and asked him to search for another shelter.)
