कुतः श्रियै त्वं यतसे निकामं श्रीरामदासो भव मानव त्वं |
श्रीरामदासस्य पराङ्मुखस्य सदानुपायिन्युपतिष्ठते श्रीः ||

भावार्थ - हे मानव ! यदि तू धन संपत्ति को प्राप्त करने के लिये
प्रयत्नशील है तो तू भगवान श्री रामचन्द्र जी का दास (भक्त) बन जा |
'श्रीरामदास शब्द के विलोम के अर्थ के प्रभाव से 'सदाअमराअनपायिनी
श्री ' (सदैव बनी रहने वाली धन संपत्ति और यश ) तुझे प्राप्त होगा |
(श्रीरामदास शब्द का विलोम सदामराश्री अर्थात् सदैव बनी रहने वाली समृद्धि
है | इसी का अलंकारिक उपयोग इस सुभाषित में एक उद्बोधन के रूप में
कर लोगों को ईश्वर भक्ति के लिये प्रेरित किया गया है | )
Kutah shriyai tvam yatase nikaamam Shriraamadaaso bhava
maanava tvam.
Shriraamadaasasya paranmukhasya sadaanupaayinyupatishthate
Shreeh.
Kutah = from where ? Shriye=prosperity, wealth. Tvam = You.
Yatase = endeavors. Nikaamam = desirous. Shriraamdaso=
A devotee and follower of Lord Raam. Bhava = become.
Maanava = man. Tvam = you. you hriraamdasasya = of the
word Shriraama. Paranmukestowed be bhasya = disinclined/conversely.
Sadaanapaayinyupatishthate = sada+ anapaayin +upatishthate.
Sada = always. Anapaayin = imperishable. Upatishthate = stays.
Shreeh = prosperity wealth.
i.e. O man ! If you are desirous and endeavours to acquire wealth
and prosperity, you should become a slave (devotee) of Lord Rama.
By the effect of converse usage of the word 'shriraamdaasa' , you will
be bestowed with imperishable wealth and prosperity.
( When the alphabets of the word "Shriraamdaasa" are written conversely
they mean imperishable wealth and prosperity. This has been used as
an embellishment in the above Subhashita to exhort people to worship
Lord Shri Raam.)
