To day's Shubhashita.

काव्य शास्त्र विनोदेन कालो गच्छति धीमताम्
व्यसनेन च  मूर्खाणाम्  निद्राया कलहेन वा

Kaavya shaastra vinoden kaalo gachhati dheemataam

Learned persons spend their time in discussing poetry, literature and other entertainment,whereas those who are foolish and uneducated while away their time by indulging in various  vices, sleeping or conflict with each other.

Dheemataam =  Wise and learned persons, Pandits         .Kavya = poetry.     Vinod = entertainment
Moorkha =  A person who is foolish and uneducated.      Vyasana = vices, bad habits
Kalaha =  conflict , contradicting each other.        Nidraa = sleeping

    Madhyaanhestree prasangavaa,Raatrou chora prasangena, Kaalow gacchati Dheemataam.
    Meaning: Morning is spent in Dyuta( MahaaBharata) Noon spent in Stree( Seetapaharana or Ramayana, In the night Chora prasanga ( Krishna leela in Bhagavatam) This is how the wise spend their time! studying These Scriptures

    1. I have sent a reply by e mail already. The shloka writtten by you appears to be correct as under:- प्रातरे द्यूतप्रसङ्गेन मध्यान्ने स्त्रीप्रसङ्गया |
      रात्रौ चौरप्रसङ्गेन कालौ गच्छति धीमतांम् ||
      Outwardly its literal meaning is confusing but if indirectly we take the hidden meanings of the words dyoota, stree and chaur then the real meaning of the vshloka is decoded. Such shlokas are cslled koota shlokas. Thanks for referring the matter to me. Please do patronise my blog , which is also in the Faacebook. Thanks, Mohan Chandra Joshi.
