सुजनाः परोपकारं शूरः शस्त्रं धनं कृपणाः
कुलवत्यो मन्दाक्षं प्राणात्यय एव मुंचति
Sujanaah paropkaaram shoorah shastram dhanam krupanaah
Kulavatyo mandaaksham praanaatyay eva munchati.
i.e. Righteous persons do not leave off their benevolence , warriors their weapons (bravery), misers their wealth, and aristocrats their modesty, even when they face a grave danger to their life.
Sujana = a righteous and kind person. Paropakaar = helping others, benevolance.
Krupanaah = misers. Kulvatry = an aristocrate, a person born in an illustrious family.
Mandaaksh = modesty. Praana = life. Atyaya = death.
Praanaatyay = danger to life. Munchati = leave off.
