To day's Subhashit.

अति तृष्णा न कर्तव्या तृष्णां नैव परित्यजेत्
शनैः शनैश्च भोक्तव्यं स्वयम् वित्तमुपार्जितम् I

Ati trushnaa na karetavyaa trushnaam naiva parityajet.
Shanaih shanaisch bhoktavyam swayam vittmupaarjitam.

i.e.     Excessive yearning for any thing is not at all desirable, but at the same time it should not be given up altogether. One should always increase his level of consumption and acquisitions gradually and slowly, and that too by earning money through his own efforts.

Ati = excessive, too much.           Trushnaa = thirst, too much craving for a thing.
Kartavyaa = desirable, an action to be done as a duty.               Shanaih  =  slowly, gradually.
Bhoktavyam =       consume,  enjoy an available facility.            Swayam = himself
Vitta = money,  wealth,           Upaarjitam =  earned , acquired.

( In this Subhashit the author warns against getting rich quickly (even by adopting unfair and illegal means) and also gives advice to avoid ostentatious consumption and earning money through one's own efforts. There is also another Subhashit warning against consequences of going too fast  while acquiring learning (Vidyaa), earning money, and climbing a mountain, i.e. "शनैः विद्या शनैः द्रव्यं शनैः  पर्वत लङ्घनम् " - Shanaih Vidya shanaih Druvyam shanaih Parvat langhanam. These three things must be done gradually.)
