To day's Subhashit.

षड् गुणाः पुरुषेणेह त्यक्तव्या न कदाचनः
सत्यं दानम् अनालस्यम् अनुसूया क्षमा धृतिः

Shad gunaah purusheneha tyaktavyaa na kadaachanh
Satyam daanam anaalasyam anusuya kshmaa dhritih.

i.e. A righteous person should never give up these six qualities in him, namely (i) adhering to truth (ii) generosity (iii) alertness )iv) free from jealousy (v) forgiveness and (vi)firmness with patience.

Shad = six .        Gunaah = qualities, degrees of greatness.      Purusheneha = persons.
Tyaktavyaa = give up , abandon.       Na Kadaachan = never, at no time.
Satyam = truth.      Daanam = generosity i.e. helping poor and needy persons in cash or kind without being asked for.         Anaalasyam = not being lazy i.e. always alert. (Aalasya means laziness.By the prefix 'an' to ;aalasya' it denotes just the opposite meaning i.e alertness)
Anusuyaa = free from jealousy.     Kshmaa = forgiveness, tolerance.    Dhriti =patience, firmness.
