To day's Subhashit.

पातितोपि कराघातैरुत्पतत्येव कन्दुकः  |
प्रायेण साधुवृत्तानामस्थायिन्यो विपत्तयः  ||

Paatgitopi karaaghaatairutpatatyeva kandukh.
Praayen saadhuvruttaanaamasthaayinyo vipattyh.

Paatitopi =  Paatit + api.     Paatit = struck down,      Api = even,  too.  Karaaghaatairutpatatyeva =
Kar +aaghaatai +utpatati + iva .   Kar = hand.      Aaghaatai = blow by.    utpatati = jumps, shoots up.
Kanduka = a ball,       Praayen = usually, mostly.     Sadhuvruttanaam = persons leading a virtuous life.
sthaayinyo = remain in the same condition, steadfast.       Vipattyah = calamity, disaster, adversity.

i.e.       On being struck down by a blow of a hand even a ball shoots up (shows its resistance on being struck), but persons leading a virtuous and pious life  do not change their stance and their inherent qualities of head and heart and remain steadfast even if they face a calamity or adversity.
