To day's Subhashit.

आलस्यं  हि  मनुष्याणां  शरीरस्थो  महान  रिपुः    |
नास्त्युद्यमसमो बन्धुः कृत्वा Sयम् नाSवसीदति  ||

Aalasyam Hi Msnushyaanaam Sharirastho Mahaan Ripuh
Naastyudyama samo bandhuh kratwaayam Naawaseedati.

Aalasya = laziness, idleness.     Hi = surely.    Manushyaanaam = among men.
Sharirastho = existing in the body.    Mahaan = great.    Ripu = enemy.
Naastyuddyamo = Naasti +uddyam +samo.     Nasti = is not.   Uddyam =industriousness.
Samo = equal to .    Bandhu = friend,     Krutwaayam = Krutwa +eyam .   Krutwa = doing.
Eyam = this.    Naavaseedati = na + avaseedati.     Na = not   Avaseedati = disheartened, depressed.
Avasaad in Sanskrit means a state of mental depression.


i.e. Laziness  in a person is his biggest enemy, whereas there is no better friend than industriousness. A person who has this quality in him never gets depressed .
