To day's Subhashit

स्वयं  महेशः  श्वशुरो नगेशः सखा धनेशस्तनयो  गणेशः     |
तथाSपि भिक्षाSटनमेव शम्भोर्बलीयसी  केवलमीश्वरेच्छा   ||

Svyam Maheshh swashuro nageshh sakhaa dhaneshastanayo Ganeshh.
Tathaapi bhikshaatanmeva shambhorvaleeyasee kevalameeshwarecchaa.

Svyam = himself.     Maheshh =mahaa+ishah.    Maha= supreme,greatest.    Isha =master.God.
Swashuro = father-in-law.    Nagesg = nag+ ish.   Nag = a mountain.   Nagesh = Himalaya,the greatest mountain.    Sakhaa = friend.    haneshastanayo = Dhanesh+ tanayo.    Dhanesh =  Kuber,the god of riches and wealth, according to Hindu mythology.    Tanayo = son.      Ganesh = the Elephant headed
god , son of Lord Shiva and Paarvati.     Tathaapi = even then.   Bhikshaatanmeva= Bhikshaa+atan+ eva.       Bhikshaa = begging.    Atan = walking.     Eva = already.    Bhikshaatan=  the way of living by way of begging ,by a roaming mendicant.    Shambhorbaleeyasee = Shambho + baleeyasi.
Shambho = another name of Lord Shiva.    Baleeyasee = mos powerful.    Kevalameeshwarecchaa =
keval+Eeshwarecchaa.    Keval = only.    Ishwarecchaa = will of God Almighty.

i.e.    Lord Shiva is himself the master of other gods, his father-in-law is the Himalayas, the king of all mountains, Kuber-the god of riches and the treasurer of all gods- is his close friend, and Lord Ganesh is his son.  Even then Lord Shiva has to lead the life of a roaming mendicant, the cause of which can be attributed  only to the most powerful will of the Supreme God Almighty.

(In Sanskrit Literature there are numerous jocular descriptions of  lifestyle of Lord Shiva and many hilarious anecdotes are associated with him.This Subhashit is one of them implying that at times most powerful and well connected persons are compelled to lead the life of a beggar due to the quirk of fate.)
