न हिंस्यात परवित्तानि देयं काले न दापयेत् |
विक्रान्तः सत्यवाक् क्षान्तो नृपो न चलते पथः ||
अर्थ - राजा दूसरों के धन का नाश न करे | जिसको जो कुछ भी देना हो , उसे समय पर दिलाने की व्यवस्था
करे | पराक्रमी,सत्यवादी और क्षमाशील रहे | ऐसा करने वाला राजा कभी पथभ्रष्ट नहीं होता है |

Vikraanth satyavaak kshaanto nrupo na chalate pathh.
Na = not .Himsyaat =destroy, kill. Paravittaani = para +vittaani. Para = others' Vittani =wealth.
Deyam = amount payable. Kale = at the time of. Daapayet = to be ready to bestow or give.
Vikraanth = victorious,valourous. Satyavaak = truthful, speaking the truth. Kshaant = forgiving. Nrupo = King. Chalate = go astray. Pathah = path, road.
Advising Yudhishthara about the do's and don'ts for a King, Bheeshma further says -
" The King must not destroy the wealth of his citizens and whatever he has to give or dole out should not be delayed and given in time. He should be valourous, truthful, and also forgiving. A king, who acts like this never goes astray from the path of proper governance of his kingdom."
