Today's Subhashita.

अपूर्वरसना  व्यालाः   खलाननबिलेशयाः  |

कर्णमूले स्पृशन्त्यन्यं हरन्त्यन्यस्य जीवितम्  ||

अर्थ  = दुष्ट व्यक्तियों की जिह्वा ( वाणी )एक बिल में छुपे हुए  सर्प के समान होती है | जब् वह् किसी अन्य व्यक्ति के कर्णमूलों मे प्रविष्ट होती है सर्प दंश के समान उसके प्राण-हरण में भी सक्षम होती है.

    (  इस सुभाषित मे कटु वचन बोलने वाले नीच व्यक्तियों की जीभ की तुलना एक सर्प से और मुंह् की सर्प के बिल से की गयी है | कटु वचन सर्प दंश के तुल्य कहे गये हैं जो कि सुनने वाले का प्राणान्त करने में भी सक्षम होते है, विशेषतः जब  बात हद से आगे गुजर जाती है और आपस में मारपीट  हो जाती है  )   

Apoorvarasanaa vyalaah khanananabileshayaah.

karnamoole sprushantyanyam harantyanyasya jeevitam.

Apoorva = unique, novel.     Rasanaa = tongue.     Vyaalaah =snakes.    Khalaanana= khala+aanana.

Khala = wicked persons.  Aanan= mouth.  Bileshayaa = holes, openings. Karnamool = root of the ear.

sprushantyanyam +sprashanti +anyam.       Sprashanti = touches.        Anyam = others.

Harantyanyasya=   haranti+ anyasya.    Haranti = takes away.   Jeevitam =life.

i.e.    The tongue ( way of speaking) of wicked persons is unique like a snake living in a hole (likened to the mouth of the wicked  person) .  When ever it (the words spoken) touchs the ear drums of other persons, it  acts like a snake bite and can  take away even the life of such persons.

(In this Subhashita the author has used the simile of a snake living in a hole for the tongue of a foul
mouthed wicked person and his way of speaking to a snake bite, which can likewise even result in
the killing of other persons if the ensuing altercation goes beyond limits.)
