Today's Subhashita.

Vidyaa = Knowledge, learning.     Mitra = friend.    Pravaasheshu = away from home, going abroad.
Bhaaryaa = wife.       Graheshu = at home.      Vyaadhistasyaushadham =vyaadhih +tasya= aushadham.
Vyaadhi = illness, disease.    Tasya = its.     Aushadham = medicine.   Dharmo = religious practices.
Mrutasya = a dead person's.

i.e.     Being learned and knowledgeable helps a person like a friend during his stay in unknown foreign countries,  a devoted wife in his home,  a medicine acts as a friend to cure him from illness and observing a religious  and righteous lifestyle helps as a friend after his death.

( In Hindu Religion it is believed that if a person leads a religious life, after death in his next birth cycle he is born in an illustrious family as the saying goes - शुचीनाम् श्रीमताम्  गेहे योगभ्रष्टोभिजायते  (Sucheenaam shreemataam gehe yogabhrashtobhijaayate) i.e. a person who has practised Yoga, but due to some unforseen reason is not able to continue it,he is born  in his next birth he in an illustrious and rich family.)
