अविद्यः पुरुषः शोच्यः शोच्यं मिथुनमप्रजं |
निराहारः प्रजाः शोच्या शोच्यं राष्ट्रमराजकं ||
अर्थ = शोचनीय तो एक विद्या विहीन (मूर्ख )व्यक्ति और सन्तानहीन दंपति हैं | इसी प्रकार वह् प्रजा शोचनीय है जिसे भरपेट भोजन उपलब्ध नहीं होता है , और वह् राष्ट्र शोचनीय है जहां सर्वत्र अराजकता व्याप्त है ||
Avidyah purushah shochyah shochyam mithunamaprajam.
Niraaharhh prajaah shochyaa shochyam raashtramaraajakam.
Avidyah = foolish, uneducated. Purushah = person. Shochyah = deplorable, unfortunate.
Mithunamaprajam = Mithunam + aprajam. Mithuna = a couple (husband and wife).
Aprajam = childless. Nirahaarah = not having food . Prajaah = citizens of a country.
Raashtramaaraajakam = Raashtra +arajakam , Raashtra = A nation. Arajakam = anarchic.
i.e. A person who is foolish and uneducated is to be deplored and so also a childless couple,. citizens of a Country who always face shortage of food and are not able to feed themselves properly. An anarchic Nation is also most unfortunate and deplorable . .
