Eka = one, a. Vrukshe = tree. Yathaa = for instance,because. Raatrou = during the night.
Naanapakshisamaagamah = Naana+ pakshi + samagamah. Naana = of various types.
Pakshi = birds. Samaagamah = arrive at, assemble. Praatardash = Praatah + dasha.
Praatah = in the morning. Dasha = ten. Dishau = directions. (East, West, North and South, which are further sub-divided totaling 10 directions, like north-east, south west etc. in Western Astronomy)
Yaanti = go. Tadvatdyoota = tadvat +dyoota. Tadvat = in the same manner. Dyoota =gambling.
i.e. Just as birds of various types assemble for shelter on a tree during the night and by the next morning disperse in different (ten) directions, in the same manner gamblers also assemble at one place during the night and next morning disperse to return to their homes.
(The above Subhashita is a nice example of making fun of gamblers by comparing them with birds taking shelter in a tree during the night.)
