Today's Subhashita.

एकेन राजहंसेन या शोभा सरसोSभवत्  |
न सा बक सहस्रेण   परितस्तीरवासिनः ||

अर्थ -      केवल एक ही राजहंस से एक सरोवर की जो शोभा होती है , वैसी  उसके तट के चारों ओर निवास करने वाले हजारों बगुलों से भी नहीं होती है |
      (प्रकारान्त से इस सुभाषित का तात्पर्य यह है कि एक ही महान् व्यक्ति के होने से किसी समाज को
        जो प्रतिष्ठा और सम्मान प्राप्त होता है वैसा हजारों साधारण व्यक्तियों के होने पर भी नहीं होता है )

Ekena raajahamsena yaa shobhaa sarasobhavat '
Na saa bakah sahestrena paritasttr vaasinah.

Ekena =  Just by one.    Raajahamsena = king swan's    Yaa = causes.    Shobhaa =  graced, beautified.
Sarasobhavat  =  Sarash + abhavat,      Saraso = a lake.     Abhavathavet = happens.    Na = not .
Saa = that.    Bakah =  crane, stork (birds).  Sahasrena = by one thousand.      Paritah = all around       Teera = banks of a lake.    Vaasinah = residents.

i.e.     The manner in which a lake is graced and beautified by the presence of even one King swan,  it is not possible even by thousands of cranes living all around the  banks of that  lake.

(The idea behind this Subhashita is that a single honourable and righteous person brings glory and fame to a society /country which is not possible by  thousands of  its ordinary citizens.)
