Today's Subhashita.


अलब्धैः सह  सौहार्दं   पण्डितै  सह्  संकथा |
उत्तमैः सह सङ्गश्च विधेया सुखमिच्छता ||

अर्थ -      यदि तुम सदैव सुखी रहने की  इच्छा रखते  हो तो जो व्यक्ति
तुमसे  पूर्व परिचित नहीं हैं  उनसे भी मित्रता पूर्ण व्यवहार करो,   विद्वान
और सज्जन व्यक्तियों के संपर्क मे रह  कर  विभिन्न विषयों पर चर्चा करो
 तथा सदैव  समाज में प्रतिष्ठित महान्  व्यक्तियों के संपर्क में बने रहो |

Alabdhaih saha sauhaardam panditai saha sankathaa.
Uttmaih saha sangashcha vidheyaa sukhamicchataa.

Alabdhaaih = not met with earlier.  saha = with. Sauhaardam =
friendship.   Panditaih = learned and wise persons. Sankathaa =
discussion over a subject.     Uttmaih = superior and honourable
persons.  Sangashcha=  sangah +cha.    Sangah = association with
or the company of.    Vidheyaa = should be done  Sukhamicchataa =
sukham+icchataa.    Sukham = happiness.    Icchataa =  desire, wish.

I.e.      If a person wants to be always happy then he should be friendly
even towards other persons whom he has not met earlier, engage himself
for discussions with learned and wise persons on various subjects,  and
should always keep the company of  superior and  honourable persons
of the society.
