Today's Subhahita.

असंवृतस्य कार्याणि प्राप्तान्यपि विशेषतः |
निःसंशयं विपद्यन्ते भिन्नप्लव  इवोदधौ  ||

अर्थ -      विभिन्न प्रकार के खतरों से बचाव  से रहित  व्यक्ति  के विभिन्न
कार्य, और विशेषतः ऐसे कार्य भी जो संपन्न हो गये हों , वैसे ही  निःसंदेह खतरे
में पड  जाते  हैं  जैसे कि समुद्र (चन्द्रमा के गुरुत्वाकर्षण से उत्पन्न) ज्वार  भाटा
के  कारण  उद्वेलित और अशान्त हो जाता है |

(चन्द्रमा के गुरुत्वाकर्षण से बचाव का कोई  उपाय समुद्र के पास नहीं होता है |
अतः वह् अनिमयित रूप से अशान्त हो कर ज्वार उत्पन्न करता है | इस प्रवृत्ति
को एक उपमा के रूप में प्रयुक्त कर पर्याप्त संरक्षण के  अभाव में लोगों के  बने बनाये
कार्य बिगडने की समस्या को व्यक्त किया है |)

Asmvrutasya kaaryaani praaptaanyapi visheshatah.
nihsamshyam vipadyante bhinnaplava ivodadhau.

Asambrutasya = an unprotected person exposed to various risks.    
Kaaryaani = actions,  jobs.         Praaptaanyapi = praaptaani  + api.      
Praaptaani =  accomplished.      Api =  even.     Visheshatah = especially,
in particular.     Nihsanshayam  =  undoubtedly, surely.     Vipadyante =
face calamity or misfortune,           Bhinnaplava = Bhinna + plava.  
Bhinna =disturbed.irregular.        Plava = swelling, flooding. (tides in the
case of the ocean)      Ivodadhau = iva + udadhau.            Iva = like.  
Udadhau = the ocean.

i.e.         In the case of persons having no protection against various risks,
his tasks, and even the accomplished tasks, undoubtedly face misfortune or
problems, just like the Ocean, which faces turbulence in the shape high tides
(due to gravitational pull of the Moon, over which it has no control).

(Through the Simile of the Ocean, the author of this Subhashita has beautifully
outlined the predicament of unprotected persons in their daily life.)
