Today's Subhashita.

छिन्नोऽपि रोहति तरुश्चन्द्रः क्षीणोऽपि वर्धते लोके  |
इति  विमृशन्तः सन्तः  संतप्यन्ते  न  लोकेस्मिन्  ||  - सुभाषित रत्नाकर

भावार्थ -     वृक्षों को  काट कर छोटा कर दिये  जाने पर भी तथा चन्द्रमा
का अपना आकार छोटा हो जाने पर भी  वे  पुनः  वृद्धि प्राप्त कर लेते हैं |
इसी तथ्य को ध्यान में रखते हुए  साधु और सन्त  समाज में किसी को भी
दुःख नहीं देते हैं और सदैव सब की भलाई  के लिये  प्रयत्नशील रहते हैं |

Chinnopi rohati tarushchandrah ksheenopi vardhate loke.
Iti vimrushantah santah smtapyate na lokesmin.

Chinnopi = chinnao +api.    Chinno = cut through, torn.
Rohati = springs up, grows.   Tarushchandrah = taruh + chandrah.
Taruh = a tree.    Chandrah = the Moon.    Ksheenopi = ksheeno +
api.   Ksheeno = broken, diminished.    Vardhate = causes to
prosper and thrive.   Loke = in this world.    Iti =  that.,  is.
Vmrushantah = aware of, perceive.   Santah = noble and saintly
person.   Smtapyante = ,cause pain.    Na = not.      Lokesmin =
Loke +asmn.   Asmin = in the.    Loke =  society , community..

i.e.     .Trees on being cut and pruned, and the Moon on being
diminished in size, again grow up.   Considering this fact noble
and saintly persons do not cause harm and pain to anybody in
the society and always  endeavour for its welfare.
