न प्रहृष्यति सम्माने नापमाने च कुप्यति |
न क्रुद्धः परुषं ब्रूयात् स वै साधूत्तमः स्मृतः ||- संस्कृत सुभाषितानि
भावार्थ - जो व्यक्ति सम्मानित किये जाने पर बहुत प्रसन्न नहीं
होते हैं और न अपमानित किये जाने पर कुपित(क्रोधित) होते हैं , तथा
क्रोधित होने पर भी अपशब्द और कटु वचन नही बोलते हैं , ऐसे ही
लोगों को महान साधुओं के रूप में सदैव याद किया जाता है |

Na kruddhah parusham brooyaat sa vai saadhoottamah smrutah.
Na = not. Prahrushyati = rejoices Sammaane = on being honoured.
Naapamaane - na + apamaane, Apamaane = on being insulted.
Cha = and. Kupyati = becomes angry. Kruddhah = angry.
Parusham = harsh words. Brooyaat = speak. Sa = he.
Vai = a word generally placed after a word laying stress on it..
Saadhoottamah = an excellent virtuous person. Smrutah =
remembered, termed as.
i.e. A person who neither rejoices on being honoured , nor
becomes angry on being insulted, and even when angry does not use
harsh language, are always remembered as a truly virtuous and
saintly person..
