हे दारिद्र्य नमस्तेSस्तु धन्योSहं त्वत्प्रसादतः |
लोकान्पश्याम्यहं सर्वान्न मां पश्यति कश्चन || = सुभाषित रत्नाकर,
भावार्थ - हे दरिद्रता ! तुम्हें सादर नमस्कार है | तुम्हारी कृपा
से में इतना धन्य (भाग्यशाली ) हो गया हूं कि अब मैं अन्य लोगों
को तो देखता (उनसे अपेक्षा करता) हूं परन्तु मेरी ओर कोई भी नहीं
देखता है |
(उपर्युक्त सुभाषित 'व्याजस्तुति ' अलंकार का एक सुन्दर उदाहरण है
जिसमें प्रसंशा करने के बहाने वास्तव में दरिद्रता की निन्दा की गयी
है | )

Lokaanpashyaamyaham sarvaann maam pashyati kashchan..
Hey= O ! Daaridrya = poverty. Namastestu= namaste +
astu.. Namaste = salutations. Astu -= be it. Dhanyoham =
Dhanya + aham. Dhanyo = fortunate,blessed. Amam = I am.
Tvatprasadaatah = tvad + prasaadatah. Tvad = thou.
Prasaadatah = free gift, benevolence. Lokaanpashyaamyaha
lookaan + pashyaami + aham. Lokaan = other people.
Pashyami = see. Aham = I, , myself. Sarvaanna =
Sarvaan + na. Sarvaan = all others. Na = not Maam =
to me. Pashyati = sees. Kashchana = somebody, others.
i.e. O poverty ! I salute thee most reverentially. Due to
your benevolence showered upon me, I have now become so
blessed that I now see (seek something from)every body but no
body ever cares to see (care for) me.
(The above Subhashita is a fine example of a metaphor called
"Vyaajstuti" i.e. condemnation of some thing disguised as a
praise,)
