Today's Subhashita.

इह भोगं यशः प्रीतिं सभासु  बहुमान्यता  |
दद्यात्परत्र सुगतिं विद्याधनमनुत्तमं     ||- महासुभषितसग्रह्

भावार्थ -  इस संसार में विद्या रूपी धन ही  सर्वश्रेष्ठ है क्योंकि उसके
माध्यम  से सांसारिक सुख, यश, प्रीति,तथा  विद्वानों की सभाओं में
आदर और मान्यता तो  प्राप्त होते  ही है, जीवन के अन्य क्षेत्रों में भी
सफलता और सुख प्राप्त  होता है  |  

Iha bhogam yashah preetim sabhaasu bahumaanyataa.
Dadyaatparatra sugatim vidyadhanamanuttamam.

Iha - this World.    Bhogam = enjoyment of worldly comforts.
Yashh =  fame.    Preetim = affection, joy.    Sabhaasu = in
the assemblies of learned persons.   Bahumaanyataa =  bahu +
maanyata.      Bahu = plentiful, a lot.   Maanyataa = recognition.
Dadyaatparatra - dadyaat _ paratra.    Dadyaat = gives.   Paratra=
elsewhere.    Sugatim = an auspitious position,  happiness.
Vidyaadhanamanuttamam = vidyadhanam +anuttamam.
Vidyadhana = wealth in the shape of knowledge,   Anuttamam =
highest, incomparably the best,

i.e.      In this world knowledge is the best form of wealth, because
through  it a  person can  not only acquire  worldly comforts, fame ,
 joy,, love, respect and recognition in the assembly of learned persons,
but also auspicious position in other walks of life.
