Today's Subhashita.

उद्यमस्य प्रसादेन दृश्यन्ते  विविधा: कलाः |

कातरा: एव  जल्पन्ति यद्भाव्यं तद्भविष्यति  || - महासुभषितसंग्रह 

भावार्थ -      उद्यम करने के फलस्वरूप लोगों को अनेक प्रकार की 

कलाओं का ज्ञान प्राप्त  होता  है और ऐसे उद्यमी पुरुष जिस किसी 

भी कार्य को करने की या किसी वस्तु की कामना करते हैं वह उन्हें 

उद्यम करने से प्राप्त हो जाता है |  इसके विपरीत जो व्यक्ति भीरु  

(डरपोक ) स्वभाव के होते हैं वे केवल निरर्थक बाते ही करते रहते हैं 

(और उन्हें कुछ  भी उपलब्ध नहीं  होता  है ) |

Udyamasya prasaadena drushyanti vividhaah kalaah.

Kaataraah eva jalpanti yadbhaavyam tadbhavishyati.

Udyamasya = continued and strenuous effort.    Prasaadena =

as a result of.    Drushyante = one  sees, views.   Vividhaah =

various.  Kalaah =  arts.  Kaataraah = timid and perplexed men.

eva  =  thus , really    Jalpanti = prattle, talk in a childish  way.   

Yadbhaavyam = yat + bhaavyam.     Yat = that.    Bhaavyam =  

thinking about what ought to be done.           Tadbhavishyati  =    

Tat = that.    Bhavishyati = happens.

i.e.        By making continued and strenuous efforts people get 

acquainted with various arts and crafts, and whatever they decide 

to do is achieved by them through their strenuous efforts.  On the 

other hand timid and perplexed  people simply talk in a childish

way (and  by remaining idle achieve nothing) .
