आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita;

एकमपि क्षणं लब्ध्वा सम्यक्त्वं यो विमुञ्चति  |

संसारार्णवमुत्तीर्य  लभते  सोSपि   निर्वृतिं       || - महासुभषितसंग्रह 

भावार्थ -   यदि कोई व्यक्ति एक क्षण के लिये भी परिपूर्णता और 

संपन्नता प्राप्त करने की आकांक्षा को त्याग दे तो वह इस संसार 

रूपी महासागर को पार कर मोक्ष प्राप्त कर सकता है |

( मनुष्य की आकांक्षायें असीमित होती हैं और उन्हें पूरी करने की 

भागदौड में वह मानव जीवन के मुख्य  उद्देश्य मोक्ष की प्राप्ति से
दूर हो जाता है | इस सुभाषित में इसी तृष्णा को त्यागने के लिये
प्रेरित  किया गया है |)

Ekamapi kshanam labdhvaa samyaktvam yo vimunchati.

Sansaaraarnavamutteerya labhate sopi nirvrutim.

Ekamapi = Ekam + api.    Eka = one.    Api = even.    Kshanam =

moment, second.    Labdhvaa=  having gotten.   Samyaktvam=

completenesss, perfection.    Yo = whosoever.    Vimunchati =

unharnesses, gives up.   Samsaaraarnavamutteerya = samsaar +

arnavam + utteerya.     Samsaar = world, worldly existence.

Arnava = ocean.   Utteerya = having crossed   Labhate = achieves.       Sopi =

So + api.    So = he.   Nirvrutim = emancipation.

i.e.       If a person sheds his desire for perfection and prosperity
even for a moment, he can cross the ocean of worldliness  and
attain emancipation.

(There is no end to the desires of people which at times turns into
 greed and while pursuing these desires they forgets the main aim of
mankind i.e. emancipation.  This Subhashita exhorts men to pursue
the path of emancipation by saying that even by shedding  greed even
for a moment one can attain emancipation.)
