आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

ये  कार्यिकेभ्योSर्थमेव गृह्णीयुः पापचेतसः  |
तेषां  सर्वस्वमादाय  राजा  कुर्यात्प्रवासनम्  || - मनुस्मृति ७/१२

भावार्थ -   यदि कोई भृष्ट पदाधिकारी किसी प्रजा से उत्कोच
(घूस) के रूप में कोई वस्तु या  धन  ग्रहण करे तो उसका सर्वस्व
हरण कर उसे अपने देश से सदैव के लिये निर्वासित कर देना राजा
का परम कर्तव्य है  |

(वर्तमान संदर्भ में राजा या शासकों में इस भावना का सर्वथा अभाव
है इस के विपरीत वे ही यः शास्त्र निषिद्ध कर्म करते हुए रंगे हाथ
पकडे जा रहे हैं , जिस के कारण सर्वत्र अराजकता व्याप्त है |)

Ye kaaryikebhyorthameva grihneeyuh paapachetasah .
Teshaam sarvasva maadaaya Raajaa kuryaatpravaasanam

Ye = those.   kaaryikebhyo = officials, e\mployees.  Artham =.\
wealth, money ,   Eva = really. Gruhneeyuh = receive,accept
Paapachetasah =. evil -minded . Tesham = to them.  Sarvasva-
-maadaaya.= sarvasvam + aadaaya.   Sarvasvam =all wealth,
Adaaaya = seizing , confiscating.      Raajaa = the King.
Kuryaatvavaasanam = Kuryaat +  praavasaanam.   Kuryaat =
should  do.   Tu = and.    Pravaasanam = excile, banishment.

i.e.   If any corrupt and evil minded official takes a bribe in
the shape of money or gifts, the King must confiscate all his
wealth and possessions and banish him from the Kingdom
for ever.

(In the present context the above commandment is not being
followed and there is widespread corruption in all the depart-
ments of the Government, as  a result of which there is anarchy
everywhere,)
