सहजान्धदृशः स्वदुर्नये परदोषेक्षणदिव्यचक्षुषः |
स्वगुणोच्चगिरो मुनिवत्ताः परवर्णग्रहणेष्वसाधवः ||
भावार्थ - दुष्ट व्यक्ति स्वयं अपने दोषों के प्रति तो एक अन्धे व्यक्ति
के समान आचरण करते है , परन्तु अन्य व्यक्तियों के दोषों को इस प्रकार
देखते हैं कि मानो उनके पास दिव्य दृष्टि हो | इसी प्रकार अपने गुणों का तो
वे बडे जोर शोर से प्रचार करते हैं , परन्तु जब् अन्य व्यक्तियों की प्रशंसा
करनी हो तो वे एक मुनि के समान मौन धारण कर लेते हैं |

Svagunocchagiro munivattah paravarnagrahaneshvaasaadhavah.
Sahaja+andha+ drushah. Sahaja =natural. Andha = blind.
Drushah = appearance, look. Sva= of self. Durnaye = bad
conduct. Para +dosha +eekshana +divyachakshushah. Para =others.
Dosh = defects,shortcomings. _Ekshan = viewing. Divyachakshu =
extremely good eyesight. Svaguno +ucchagiro. Svaguno - his own
virtues. Ucchagiro = loud mouthed....Munivat = like a sage.
Para +varna +grahaneshu + asaadhavah. Para = others. Varna =
appearance.qualities. Grahaneshu = appreciating, receiving.
Asaadhavah = mean and wicked persons.
i.e. Mean and wicked persons behave like a blind person in respect
of their own shortcomings, but exhibit extremely good eyesight while
observing the shortcomings of others. Likewise ,they are loud mouthed
while extolling their own virtues, but maintain complete silence like a
sage ,when there is need to appreciate the qualities of others.
