आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

मुक्तिमिच्छसि  चेत्तात  विषयान्विषवत्त्यजेत   |
क्षमार्जवदयाशौचं   सत्यं  पीयूषवत्पिव  ||
                                         - चाणक्य नीति (९/१ )

भावार्थ -    आदरणीय बन्धु , यदि तुम मुक्ति (जन्म और मृत्यु
और पुनर्जन्म के चक्र से मुक्ति ) चाहते हो तो  तुम विषय भोगों
के  साधनों को  एक  विष के  समान  त्याग  दो तथा क्षमा, शुचिता
सरलता ,विद्या, प्राणिमात्र के प्रति दया और सत्यवादिता इन सभी
गुणों को अमृत के समान समझ कर पियो (इनका अनुपालन करो ) |

Muktimicchasi  chettaata  vishayaanvishavattyajet.
Kshamaarjava-dayaa-shaucham  satyam  peeyushvatpiva.

Muktim+icchasi,    Muktim = release from rebirth,
salvation. Icchasi = desires.    Chet + taata.   Chet = if.
Taata = a word for expessing affection to a person.
Vishayaan + vishvat + tyajet.   Vishayaan = objects which
give sensual pleasure.   Vishvat = like a poison.  Tyajet =
should give up.   Kshamaa = forgiveness.    Arjava =
sincerity. honesty.    Vidyaa =knowledge.    Shaucham =
cleanliness, honesty.    Satyam  = truthful.   Peeyushavat =
Peeyusha +vat.   Peeyusha =  nectar of Gods .   Vat = like,
a suffix  to  a word implying likeness or resemblance)
Piva = drink.

i.e.    O friend !  If you want  salvation during your lifetime,
then you should give up all the objects of sensual pleasures and
adopt  the lifestyle promoting  forgiveness, sincerity, honesty,
knowledge, cleanliness and truthfulness , as if you are drinking
the nectar of Gods.
