आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

साधूनां  दर्शनं  पुण्यं  तीर्थभूता  हि  साधवः  |
कालेन  फलते  तीर्थं  सद्यः साधुसमागमः   ||
                              - चाणक्य नीति ( १२/८ )

भावार्थ -   सन्त  महात्माओं के  दर्शन मात्र से ही पुण्य की प्राप्ति हो जाती
है  क्यों कि वे तीर्थों के समान पवित्र होते हैं |  तीर्थवास करने का सुपरिणाम
तो कुछ समय के पश्चात ही प्राप्त होता है , परन्तु  सन्तों की सत्सङ्गति
का सुपरिणाम तो तुरन्त ही प्राप्त  हो जाता है |
 
Saadhoonaam  darshanam punyam  teerthabhootaa hi saadhavah.
Kaalena phalate  teertham  sadyah  saadhusamaagamah.

Saadhoonaam = of saintly and virtuous persons.   Darshanam =
visiting, observing.    Punyam = auspicious, meritorious act.
Teerthabhoota = sanctified,    Hi = surely.   Saadhavah = saintly and
virtuous persons.   Kaalena = in the course of time.   Phalate =  be
fruitful, gives good results.     Teertham = a place of pilgrimage.
Sadyah = instantly.    Saadhusamaagama = association with saintly
persons.

i.e.    By visiting and associating with saintly and virtuous persons
people acquire 'punya' (religious merit), because saints are sanctified
like a place of pilgrimage.   While the good results of a pilgrimage
are visible in the course of time,  association with saintly persons gives
good results instantly.
