Daataa neechopi sevyah syaannishphalo na mahaanapi.
Jalaarethee varidhim tyaktwaa pashya koop nishevate.
Daataa = giver, one who offers. Neechopi = neech + api. Neech = inferior, mean, lowly
Api = even. Sevya = approached , honoured. Syaannishphalo = Syaat + nishphalo.
Syaat = but. Nishphalo = useless, fruitless. Na = not. Mahaanapi = mahaan + api.
Mahaan = great. Jalaarthi = Jal = water. Arthee = one who wants or desires any thing.
Jalarthee = a thirsty person. Vaaridhi = ocean. Tyaktwaa = leaving. Pashya = seeing.
Koop = a well (full of water) . Nishevate = approaches, enjoys.
i.e. A person who at the time of your need makes an offer to you should be appreciated and approached even if he may be a lowly person, but not a person who is useless to you even if he may be a great person. For example a thirsty person near the sea shore will approach a well to quench his thirst rather than the ocean ,because sea water being brackish is unfit for drinking purpose.
