To day's Subhashit.

किं कवेस्तस्य काव्येन किं काण्डेन धनुष्मतः |
परस्य   ह्रदये  लग्नं  न  घूर्णयति  यच्छिरः    ||

Kim kavestasya kaavyena kim kaanden dhanushmatah.
Parasya hradaye lagnam na ghoornayati yacchirah.

Kim = what.     kavestasya = Kavaih + tasya.     Kavaih = poets.     Tasya = whose.
Kaavyen =  by the poetry.     Kaanden = by the arrow.    Dhanushmatah = an archer.
Parasya =  others'      Hradayam = heart.      Lagnam = point of contact or intersection, target.
Na = not.     Ghoornayati = causes to strike .      Yacchirah = Yat + shirah.
Yat = that.       Shirah = head.

i.e.         Of what use is the poetry of a poet and likewise an arrow struck by an archer, if these are not able to touch the heart of the listener or strike at the  head of the targeted person, respectively.
