Gunavajjansamsargaaddyati sarvoopi gauravam'
Pushpamaaala Prasangena sootram shirasi dhaaryate.
Gunavajjansamsargaaddyati = gunavad +Jana + samsargaad + yaati. Gunavas = having talent and virtues. Jana = persons. Samsargaad = in the company of. Yaati = get. Sarvoopi = sarva +api.
Sarva = all others. Api = even. Gauravam = dignity, respetability. Pushpamaala = a garland of
flowers. Peasangena = attached to, Sootram = the thread which holds all the flowers of the garland. Shirasi = over the head. Dhaaryate = placed., to be kept.
i.e. Even ordinary persons get respectability and dignity iin the company of talented and virtuous persons, just like the ordinary thread, which, when attached to a garland of flowers manages to get placed over the head of a dignitary.
