Today' s Subhashit.

न स्थातव्यं न गन्तव्यं  क्षणमप्यमधमैः सह   |
पयोपि शौण्डिनी हस्ते  मदिरां  मान्यते  जनः  ||

Na sthaatavyam na gantavyam kshnamapyadhamaih saha.
Payopi shaundinee hasteyis pre madiraam maanyate janah.

Na = not.   Sthaatavyam = stay in the company of.    Gantavyam = go along with.
Kshanamapyadhamaih = Kshanam + api +adhamaih.    Kshanam = a smallest measure of time in Hindu Astronomy, like a second in modern Science.    Api = even.
Adhamaih = lowly and wicked persons.   Saha =  with.    Payopi = apya+api .   Paya = milk.
Shaundini = a bartender (a person who serves liquor at a liquor bar)   Hastey= in the hands of.
Madiraa =  Liquor.    Maanyate = presume as, treat as.     Janah = people.

i.e.     One should not stay and move in the company of mean and wicked persons even for a second, he might also be considered as a wicked person, just like a glass of milk in the hands of a bartender is mistakenly thought to be full of liquor rather than milk.
