i.e. A poor and moneyless person desires to have one hundred (Rupees) and a person having one hundred (Rupees) wishes to have One thousand, and a person owning One thousand craves for One hundred thousand (one lakh). Likewise, the owner of one 'Laksh' aspires to become the ruler of the Earth, and in turn the ruler of the Earth wants to become the Sovereign of the Universe. The Sovereign (Chakresh) further wants the rank of Indra, the ruler of Swarga- the abode of all lesser Gods. Even Indra wants to get the status of Brahma, and Brahma too craves for the power and status of Shiva, and Shiva too wants the status and power of Vishnu, the Supreme God.
Oh ! who can came out unscathed out of the deep pit of 'Trushnaa' -the unbridled desire.
(In this subhashit the author has used the hyperbole (known as 'atshayokti alankaar' in Sanskrit,by not sparing even the Gods of Hindu mythology by also depicting them as ordinary mortals falling prey to'Trushnaa'. In our day to day life, in business, politics and almost all areas of human activity we can observe the phenomenon of 'Trushnaa' which the author has highlighted in a novel way.)
