Today's Subhashita.

Sthaanam pradhaanam na balam pradhaanam sthane sthite kaapurushopi shoorah.
Jaanaami Naagendra  tava  prabhavam  kantham  binaa  garjasi  Shankarasya .

Sthana =  place, location.    Pradhaana = most important,foremost.    Na = not.
Bala = power, strength.   Sthita = standing or being present at a place.   Kaapurushopi =
Kaapurushah +api.     Kaapurushah = a coward person.     Api = even,   Shoorah = a brave person.
Jaanami = I know.    Naagendra =  chief of serpents.    Tava = your.    Prabhaavam = influence.
Kantham  = neck.     Bina = without.     Garjasi = roars, hisses.    Shmkarasya = God Shiva's.
(God Shiva's  neck is adorned by a snake worn like a garland )

i.e.      The advantage of particular place  is more important and not the inherent strength of a person, because at the right place and under favourable circumstances even a coward also acts like a brave and powerful person.  O Serpent Chief !  I know that  you have acquired dignity simply by adorning the neck of Lord Shiva, and not by your fearful hissing sound.
