Today's Subhashita.

विदुरोक्तमकृत्वाभूत्कौरवाः शोकशल्यभाक् ||

Hitopadesham shrunuyaat kurveet tathoditam.
Viduroktamakrutvaabhootkauravaah shokashalyabhaaak.

Hitopadesh = friendly advice.    Shrunuyaat =  listened to.     Kurveet = done, acted upon.
Tathoditam = accordingly with conviction.         Vidura +uktam +akrutva+abhoot.
Vidur = the name of a sage in the epic of Mahabharata.  He had advised the Kauravas and Pandavas, cousin brothers of Pandu dynasty, to reconcile their differences.  But Kauravas did not listen to his advice, which resulted in a battle and destruction of the Kaurava clan.
Ukta = spoken by.    Akrutvaabhoot = not heeded and not acted upon.   Shokashalyabhaak =
shoka = sorrow, grief   Shalyabhaak = any thing tormenting

i.e.          One should always listen attentively to sensible and friendly advice and act upon it accordingly.  See, what happened to the Kauravas by not heeding and not acting upon the advice of the sage Vidur, which resulted in extreme grief to them. (All the 100 brothers known as Kauravas were annihilated in the battle with Pandavas.)
