Anuchitakarmaarambhh svajanavirodho baleeyasi spardhaa .
Pramadaajanavishvaaso mrutyudvaaraani chatvaari.
Anuchitakarmaarambhh = Anuchit +karma +aarambhh. Anuchita = improper. Karma = action, task. Aarambha = beginning. Svajana = relatives, one's own people. Virodho = opposition.
Baleeyasi = powerful men. Spardhaa = rivalry. Pramadaajan = womankind.
Vishvaaso = trust, reliance. Mrutyudwaaraani = doorrs leading to death. Chatvaari = four.
i.e. starting a task which is improper, opposition of one's own people and relatives, rivalry with most powerful persons and having trust or reliance on the womankind, all these four conditions are like doors leading to untimely death.
(Under the present circumstances no one will accept the third condition i,e. reliance on womenfolk as a cause leading to untimely death. This only shows the bias against womenfolk in a society dominated by men, and even now this bias still continues. So, this Subhashita be understood accordingly.)
