Today's Subhashita.

 Antyajyop narah poojyo yasyaasti vipulam dhanam'
Api Brahmmakule jaato nirdhanah  pribhooyate.

Antyajopi =  antyajyo + api.     Antyajya = a person of a lower caste or tribe.   Api = even.
Narah = a person.    Poojyo = venerated, worshiped.     Yasyaasti =  who has.   Vipulam = ample.
Dhanam = wealth.   Braahmakule = in the family of a learned Brahmin.     Jaato = born in.
Nirdhanah = a poor person.     Paribhooyate = despised, disgraced. .

i.e.       If a person is very rich he is venerated and respected in the society even if he belongs to
a lowly caste or tribe, whereas a poor person born in a learned Brahmin's family is despised and disgraced.

(This Subhashita has been classified under the caption 'Reproch of rich persons and wealth', dealing with the negative effects of wealth among people and the society at large, and should be viewed accordingly. Many Subhashits on this theme have been posted by me in the past.)
