Anityaani shareeraani vibhavo naiva shaashvatah.
Nityam sannihito mrityuh kartavyo dharmasangrahh.
Anityaani = not everlasting,temporary. Shareeraani = bodies of all living beings.
Vibhavo = wealth and exalted position in society. Naiva = not, hardly.
Shaashvat = perpetual, eternal. Nityam = constantly, daily. Sannihito = placed near.
Mrutyuh = death. Kartavyo = duty. Dharmasmgrahah =dharma + samgraha
Dharma =righteousness, religious practice. Sangraha = collection, accumulation.
i.e. The human body is not everlasting and so also wealth and exalted social status is not eternal.
Death always faces us and can occur at any time. So it is our duty that we lead a righteous life and follow the tenets of religion (and earn/collect 'Punya' - the plus points)
(For the details of the concept of 'Punya' , please see the Subhashita dated 3rd December,2014)
