Today's Subhashita.

कविः पिता पोषयति पालको रसिकः पतिः |
कविता युवतेर्नूनं सोदरास्तु विवेकिनः       ||

अर्थ -        कविता रूपी सुन्दर युवती  का  पालन पोषण पिता के समान
करने वाला व्यक्ति एक  कवि   ही होता है |  इसी प्रकार काव्य और शास्त्रों
का मर्मज्ञ और संरक्षक व्यक्ति उसके  पति के समान होता है , तथा विवेकी
पुरुष भी  उसके भाइयों के समान होते हैं |

Kavih pita poshayati paalako rasikah patih.
Kavitaa yuvaternoonam sodaraastu vivekinah.

Kavih =  a poet .      Pita = father.       Poshayati = brings  up
Paalako = guardian     Rasikah = connoisseur (an expert critic          
of fine arts, music etc.     Patih = husband.   Yuvaternoonam =
Yuvataih + noonam.     Youvateh = young woman's
Noonam =  therefore.    Sodaraastu = sodarah + tu.    Sodaraah =
born from  the same mother.  Tu =  also    .    Vivekinah =
distinguished  and judicious  persons.

i.e.     If poetry be a beautiful young woman, then a poet,who creates
and nurtures her, is her guardian and father.  Likewise, a connoisseur
of fine arts and poetry is like her husband and distinguished and judicious
persons are also like her real brothers.
