Today's Subhashita.

एकेनापि हि शूरेण  पदाSSक्रान्तं महीतलम्  |
क्रियते भास्करस्येव स्फारस्फुरिततेजसा     ||

अर्थ -     मात्र एक  बहादुर व्यक्ति भी इस पृथ्वी को उसी तरह अपने पावों तले (आधीन)
रख सकता है जैसे कि सूर्य अपनी प्रबल रश्मियों के विस्फोट  से पृथ्वी को प्रकाशित
कर देता है |  

(उपर्युक्त सुभाषित  'वीर' शीर्षक के अन्तर्गत है | इस विश्व  के इतिहास में ऐसे अनेक उदाहरण
हैं जब कि मात्र  एक व्यक्ति ने अपने तेज और बल से समस्त विश्व को प्रभावित कर अनेक देशों
को अपने आधीन कर शासन किया | यह्  सुभाषित इसी तथ्य को ऐसे व्यक्तियों की तुलना  सूर्य
से कर  रेखांकित करता है )

Ekenaapi = ekan + api.     Eken = by one.    Api = even.    Hi = surely.
Shoorena = by a brave man.      Padaakraantm = trampled by the feet,
Maheetalam = the Earth.    Kriyate = does.    Bhaaskarasyeva =bhaskarasya+
iva.      Bhaskarasya = the Sun's     Iva = like.    Sphaarasphuritatejasaa =
sphaarh + sphurita + tejasaa.           Sphaarh =powerful, abundant.
Sphurita =flashing.            Tejasaa = powerful (rays of the Sun )

i.e.      Even a single brave man can trample this Earth (have full control  over
all its territories) just like the Sun, which brightens the Earth by its flashing
and powerful rays.

( The history of the World is full of example of warriors who conquered many
 countries and ruled over them. This Subhashita refers them indirectly by using
 the simile of the Sun. )
