Today's Subhashita.

न  दानतुल्यं   धनमन्यदस्ति  न  सत्य  तुल्यं वृतमन्यदस्ति |
न शीलतुल्यं शुभमन्यदस्ति न क्षान्ति तुल्यं हितमन्यदस्ति |

अर्थ -     धन संपत्ति का (जनहित के कार्यों  के लिये) दान देने  के समान श्रेष्ठ
और कोई अन्य सदुपयोग नहीं है तथा  सत्यवादिता के समान और कोई अन्य वृत
श्रेष्ठ  नहीं है |  शील (सच्चरित्रता ) के समान और कोई  अन्य शुभ गुण नहीं है तथा
 धैर्य और सहनशीलता के समान कोई  अन्य हितकारी प्रवृत्ति नहीं है |

Na daanatulyam dhanamanyadasti na satya tulyam vrutamanyadasti.
Na sheelatulyam shubhamanyadasti na kshaanti tulym hitamanyadasti.

Na = not.     Daan = donation,     Tulyam = equal to, comparable to            
Dhanamanyadasti =Dhana +manyat +asti.     Dhana = money,wealth.
Manyat = regarded as, considered as.       Asti = is.        Satya = truth.  
Vruta = any righteous activity voluntarily chosen for compliance.
Sheela = good moral character.      Shubha = auspicious, virtuous.
Kshaanti = patience, tolerance.      Hita = beneficial,  in the interest of.

i.e.         No other use of wealth is comparable to donating the wealth for
charitable purposes, and no other voluntary righteous behaviour is comparable
to  truthfulness.    No other virtue  is comparable to having  a good moral
character, and no other qualities are comparable to patience and tolerance. .
