Today's Subhashita.

Kim kavestasya kaavyena kim kaandena dhanushmatah.
Parasya hrudaye lagnam na poornayati yacchirah .

Kim = what ?     kavestasya= kaveh +tasya.    Kaveh = poets.    Tasya =whose.
Kaavyena = by the poetry or verses.     Kaandena = by  the arrow..
Dhanushmatah = an archer.     Parasya = of the others.    Lagnam =touching,
intersecting.     Na = not.     Poornayati =  fills , enters .
Yacchirah = yad +shirah      Yat = that        Shirah = head.

i.e.    Of what use is a poet whose poems do not touch the hearts of others (liked by them ) and of what use is also an archer who is not able to pierce the head of his opponent with his arrow ?

( In an indirect way this Subhashita asserts that only those poets are superior  whose poetry is able to stir the hearts of their  readers , and only those archers are successful who can hit their targets correctly.)
