Prashamashcha kshamaa chaiva aarjavam priyavaaditaaa.
Asmaarthyaphalaa chaiva hyete nirguneshu sataam gunaah.
Prashamashcha = prashamah +cha. Prashamah = quiet, calmness.
Cha = and. Kshmaa = forgiveness. Chaiva = as also. Aarjavam = honesty,
sincerety .Asaamarthya = weakness. Phala = as a result of. Chaiva = also
Hyate = are called. Nirguneshu = persons without any virtues i.e. mean and
wicked persons. Sataam = noble and righteous persons. Gunaah = virtues.
i.e. Peaceful mind, forgiveness, honesty and being soft spoken, all these qualities
of noble and virtuous persons are signs of weakness in the eyes of mean and wicked persons.
(The idea behind this Subhashit is that wicked people treating the virtues of noble persons as
their weakness, take undue advantage from them, which the noble persons should avoid.)
